Do you really know how to think? It is one of the most common questions I get in the three coaching programs I am currently taking.
I have to be honest; this question irritated me at first. I’d thought that I might not be the smartest person, but I would know how to think.
To my surprise, the further I am into these three programs, my irritation gradually turned into humility…I realized that I probably do not know how to think.
We Were Taught What To Think
You see, we were taught what to think and not how to think.
For example:
What is our chosen major??
What job to get upon graduation?
What company to work for?
What spouse we should look for.
What kind of house to purchase?
What kind of car to get?
In my weekly coaching classes with Bob Proctor, he would say that most of us have many ‘mental activities,’ but these mental activities do not equate to thinking, although thinking is a mental activity.
In my spiritual journey, my guru also said the same thing. So I guess if these world-renowned leaders say the same thing, then it would require my attention to figure out what they meant.
Your Internal Thinking Pattern Turns Into Your External Results
Thus, here is what I have gathered.
In the post on the laws of attraction, we know that every thought that enters into our conscious mind, once gets impressed into our subconscious mind, will be expressed through our 95% involuntary behavior.
As humans, we are energy beings; this emotionally invested behavior will generate a certain frequency level. On that level of frequency, people, events, and experiences on the same wavelength will be attracted to your life and become your experiences or results.
Change Your External Result By Changing Your Internal Thinking Pattern
Along that line, if you do not like your life experiences/results, the effective way to change them was not just through effort.
It should start with changing the chosen thoughts that enter into your conscious mind so that your conscious mind could impress the thoughts into your subconscious mind. These thoughts would then be expressed outwards into your physical behavior.
In short, it is through thinking differently…Your thinking patterns will dictate your emotions, which impact your behavior and get you to different results.
As Humans, We Are Programmed To Think What We Do Not Want
Nevertheless, as humans, we are programmed (thinking pattern) to think about what we do not want instead of what we want.
Frequently, fears of failures and what other people would think of us govern our chosen thoughts and actions. Thus, our results do not reflect what we want.
Instead, we should only focus on thinking about what we want (the end) and have our emotions and behavior aligned with what we want (the pattern)
Our Normal Thinking Pattern
To illustrate, I’d you might find helpful with the charts below:
To GET the result we want, we do not change the outside circumstances.
WE start by changing how we think in the most efficient pattern without limitations.
This efficient pattern will be shown to you once the limited conditioning is not there.
Understanding is Key
Based on the book YOU2 (you squared), “more of the same” usually gives you more of the same.
Suppose you have been getting the same result and cannot figure out why. It is not the external circumstance that you should try to change; it is your thinking that requires changing.
